Sometimes I submit, sometimes I surrender.
Short film (12 mins), 2025
A hybrid short film using 16mm, digital, and stop motion animation to explore how power and belief are internalised and expressed through the body. Centred on Thai social hierarchies and systems of authority disguised as etiquette, it traces how behaviours, gestures and roles are inherited and performed as well as what happens when we break away.
Partly filmed in the remains of Oare Gunpowder Works in Kent, the film reflects on what holds systems of control in place, both around us and within us. It is a look at how power lives in the body, and how belief, tradition, and identity leave their marks.
