Chris Kitisakkul is an artist and filmmaker based in the UK & Thailand. Working with moving image, scenography, print, animation and movement, his practice explores the overlap of spirituality, society and politics, with a focus on embodied knowledge.

He was raised between California and Thailand, following both Catholic and Buddhist traditions. This hybrid heritage and international upbringing places him both within and outside of cultures, shaping his perspective on identity, history and belonging. His work looks at how our multi-layered bodies carry social, political and spiritual histories.

While at the Royal College of Art, Chris re-evaluated his relationship with film, shifting toward a non-traditional, research-led approach that prioritises non-linear storytelling, movement, and the poetics of space. His short film, “sometimes I submit, sometimes I surrender”, delves into social hierarchies inscribed in the body and the impacts of devotion.

Chris holds a BA in Theatre Design from Central Saint Martins and has over twenty years of experience as a graphic art director in the film industry. His notable credits include Empire of Light, No Time to Die, SPECTRE, Zero Dark Thirty and Inception. He has worked with directors including Sam Mendes, Noah Baumbach, Kathryn Bigelow, Clint Eastwood, and Wim Wenders.
